Whitton is also the home of the Royal Military School of Music. Kneller Hall has been the home of Army Music since 1857, when the first Military Music Class was delivered to 85 pupils from 48 different regiments. The school was the brainchild of the Duke of Cambridge and some of today’s students occasionally relax with a pint of real ale in the Duke of Cambridge pub, across the road.
For anyone thinking of moving to Whitton so they can commute to other parts of Greater London, there is no shortage of options. Whitton station is situated at the end of Whitton High Street and goes directly into London, through Richmond. Or commuters can use the nearby Hounslow East Station, (2 miles away) to take the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground.
